is an independent Lancaster-born Singer-Songwriter, who has earnt a reputation for his tireless work rate and upbeat energetic live show, whilst most of the time only armed with an acoustic guitar.
He was born on July 26th 1994, but it wasn’t until 2005 he first picked up an electric guitar. At 11 years of age he was writing songs and fronting short lived high school band “Code of Conduct” with friends, merely as a pastime through the struggle and stress of High School. An acoustic guitar followed shortly after and so did more songs.
Joe recorded his first demo EP “One Day” in 2010, and released his first full length album “Try As You Might” in April 2012, which received solely positive reviews from various online media outlets.
Joe decided to try and tour the UK, and did so in April 2013 with his friend Heather Bradshaw, which was his first ever tour, and all booked by himself.
Over 20 more tours have taken place since, including a tour in late 2013 with folk hero Gaz Brookfield, which ended with a date at the sold out (450 capacity) Fleece in Bristol.
He has also toured and played gigs with many other well respected names such as The Blockheads, Ferocious Dog, The Heartbreaks, Keston Cobblers Club, The Crookes, Northcote,Ben Marwood, From The Jam, Brian Kennedy, Gemma Hayes, Chris T-T, Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids) and many many more.
In August 2014, Joe played a show in support of Frank Turner in the town of Barnsley, UK, after being asked personally by Frank himself to open up the show. He then received a great live review in Kerrang! Magazine, referring back to the show.
Joe toured outside of the UK for the first time in May 2015, supporting German singer John Allen on a 10-date tour of Germany, which was a huge success, and has since inspired Joe to continue touring around Germany, around Europe, and beyond.
There is eager anticipation as we wait for Joe’s new album, which is set for release in December 2016, and will feature his backing band “The Blockbuster Blues” for the first time.
