A huge thank you to everyone that came to the acoustic evening there were a lot of new faces along with all the regular one’s which was really nice, I think it was down to the fans of whole Root’s movement responding to a request to share details of our nights to all of their friends and I was blown away by the response a huge thank you to all.
as above a brilliant turn out and they weren’t disappointed a fantastic line-up I know I keep going on about it but we really are privileged in this neck of the woods with the amount of top quality singers we have and im 100% certain that one day a few of them are going to go on and get national recognition so I urge everyone to go check them out so here’s to last nights singers.
Jordan Shepherd started the night of with a set entirely of his own music a local lad who’s going to have an interesting future with some clever song writing, he’s recently recorded a cd which I believe you can buy just contact him for information. If you missed Jordan last night then your in luck as he’s also performing at the Heanor Root’s this Thursday details here.
Next up was Helen Gayle (vocals) and Jack Donald (guitar) first time at Roots Acoustic Evening some powerful stuff here especially her upbeat originals which I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a cd of it at some point. Jack was also interesting on the guitar very talented the both of them.
We then welcomed Lauren April back to Root’s with a fantastic mix of covers and originals, Such a lovely voice and her original songs are outstanding, Same again like a lot of the singers they have cds so please have a look and maybe buy one as the proceeds in most cases go to covering the costs of producing it and investment to release the next one so to keep the music going please have a look
Isaac Bloomfield delivered an excellent set with some of his own songs mixed in. He has one of those voices that just stands out I could have listened to him all night definitely one to keep an eye open for
The last singer of the night was Alan Robinson time after time this guy nails it hes remarkable amazing skills on the guitar and he puts so much passion into all of his songs you cant help but to love it he also has a cd which has got the best case I’ve seen which now takes pride to my growing collection of cds of local singers.
